Recent recipients of Lockport Rotary scholarships shared updates on their academic progress.

Each year the Rotary Club of Lockport awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating high school students who are planning on continuing their education. High School seniors residing in the Lockport City School District are eligible to apply for one of two awards presented annually in memory of Lockport Rotary Club members who shared a lifelong dedication to education. Selection is based on character, scholarship, extra-curricular and community activities, leadership, poise and presence during an interview, and the desire and intention to earn a degree from an approved four-year college or university, or to complete an approved multi-year program of vocational education or training.
Each year, scholarship winners currently still in school are asked to visit a weekly luncheon meeting and update the club on their current coursework and future career goals. This winter we got to hear updates from Alison Gueli, currently studying at Stony Brook, Nico Radwanski, a student at SUNY Oswego, RIT student Zach Sanders, and Erika Haley who attends Niagara University. The future looks bright for these young people!
